The President of Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSC), Suleiman Gora, has said that the federation has not received any form of funding from the Federal Government in eight years.
Gora said in Abuja on Tuesday that the federation was only surviving with contributions from individual members.
“We only get moral support from government in terms of them saying, `yes we are with you,’ but the issue is that it takes resources to plan and execute programmes.
“In the last eight years, we have not got a kobo from the Ministry of Youth and Sports even for the secretariat.
“The secretariat is the responsibility of the government that is why it is clearly stated in the law of the National Sports Commission that they shall be responsible for the office of the secretary,’’ he said.
