Port Harcourt based artiste, Duncan Mighty on Friday was the rave of the moment as he thrilled kids and teenagers at the Da- F Basketball summer camp with his brand of music an entertainment.

It was the grand finale of the 2016 event that took place at the Rivers State Basketball court at Niger Street in Port Harcourt and Duncan Mighty was there as a special guest to talk to the kids on how to make the best out of their chosen career, Basketball.

The four day event had talks on Benefits of Seeking God, Steps to Greatness, Dangers of the internet, looking beyond the now and the Dangers of Drug abuse and cultism.

Duncan walked into the arena black top on black pants, all blinged up but he immediately changed into white Da-F Basketball top presented to him by the organisers of the program.

He seemed very excited to be part of the event as he took selfies… in fact he was always taking selfies.

But as highlights on the final day, the celebrities in the house had a free thrown contest which was between Duncan Mighty, Iffie Ozaka (General Manager, Rivers Hoopers), Queen John (Media Officer, Rivers Hoopers), Jim Opiki (Independent Monitor) and China Acheru (Blogger).

After that, Duncan Mighty encouraged the kids in a 30 minute talk on how they can make the best of their careers even with little or no encouragement from people around them.

As the show was about to be closed for the year, I grabbed the microphone and demanded that Duncan Mighty sings because he is known for singing and not talking.

He sang… the best way he could… first by getting his audience to be part of what he was doing; them singing lines of his songs with him; dancing with him and then taking everyone on a music ride, the way only Duncan Mighty can.
At the end of his session, Duncan Mighty promised to return to the DA-F basketball program and shoot a music video with the kids, something they all looked forward to.

There was a photo session, or selfie time as it is called these days and the children at Da-F Basketball Summer camp? I’m sure they enjoyed this one more than any other.

Kudos to Fubara Onyanabo who has been doing this for nine years now; kudos to those who have helped out in one way or the other.

Next weekend, the Back To School Basketball One-dayer takes place in Port Harcourt again as the basketball kids are sent back to school with books and other materials they would need.
