It was not a good Monday for me. In fact, at some point, I just wanted to shut down, go home and relax.
My body was already weak from the football training I’d had earlier in the evening before resuming work that night. However, when I reasoned am say no light for house because NEPA don cut us off and promise us darkness for two months, I just kukuma say make I chill outside, dey kill time small small.
I was dropping off a food package along Tombia Street when I got another request from Deluxe Night Club. After I reason with the girl finish, I drove over to pick her up.
Two girls came out of the building and sat at the back. One of them had an accent that wasn’t from these parts. She was probably East or Southern African. She was also stunningly beautiful and naturally endowed (you know how women from those parts of Africa dey look na). In fact, her future was BEHIND her! Yansh na water… Leave am!
We set out for Golorxy Hotel at Alakahia, near Choba, as I eavesdropped on their conversation. As I drove, I picked up bits and pieces here and there.
These babes dey run parole well. An aspiring street girl would do well to learn one or two things from the conversation. I figured they must have been big girls, judging by their level of experience in the game.
As we approached the Ozuoba Flyover, I asked if they’d be paying by transfer or cash. The Nigerian babe between them angrily ordered me to drive to the destination first.
I no talk again.
Like a good servant, I kept quiet until we arrived. I found a good spot to park and asked for my payment. Na that time the girl begin call the man they came to see.
Oga said he was at the Obiri Ikwerre Flyover, but I overheard him telling her to settle the ride first before ending the call.
I heard all kinds of complaints inside the car. She talk go here, talk come there. She spoke about the kind of men she’d been with and how they always sorted out bills like these. Why was this man’s own different? She even said that she usually made sure the men she met sorted out her transportation so it wouldn’t eat into whatever they were giving her for her services.
O boy, my ear full.
Her foreign friend convinced her to call the man again. This time, she told him her banking apps were having network issues and that her friend’s account had already reached its transfer limit.
The man sef know say na lamba.
He told her to wait because he was close.
Na so I just use small anger open door, waka go behind the car go stand. Make I feed my eyes on their counterparts wey full that area.
Shortly afterwards, she stepped out and walked towards a vehicle parked a few metres away from mine. A brief argument followed. From where I stood, I watched everything unfold.

About five minutes later, she returned and asked me to take them back.
I jumped back into the car and drove off.
The friend immediately asked what had happened.
She explained that the man was furious that two grown women couldn’t produce ₦10,000 to settle their transport fare. Rather than continue with the arrangement, he cancelled their business meeting for the night.
Still, he transferred ₦20,000 to cover the round trip.
Na that part sweet me pass.
The girls spent the rest of the journey lambasting the man. Eventually, they agreed to head back to Deluxe and HUSTLE things out from there.
Truth be told, it could have been a much easier night for them if they had prepared themselves properly. A good evening, a handsome envelope afterwards, because the man I saw… him skin full.
They simply messed it up.
Anyways, dem tidy me my funds, stepped down and walked away. As I drove off, I couldn’t help but spend a few more seconds admiring the other African beauty… and the future she was carrying behind her.
